Idolatry: extreme admiration, love, or reverence for something or someone. When we search
God’s word we find many places in time where idolatry had some very adverse effects in the
presence of the people of God; which is why he gave us such a profound revelation of His hearts
viewpoint on this matter.
Exodus 20:3-6
3 “You shall have no other gods before me.
4 “You shall not make for yourself an image in the form of anything in heaven above or on
the earth beneath or in the waters below.
5 You shall not bow down to them or worship them; for I, the LORD your God, am a jealous
God, punishing the children for the sin of the parents to the third and fourth generation of
those who hate me,
6 but showing love to a thousand generations of those who love me and keep my
commandments.
Many of us earnestly believe that our social dispositions bare no ill intent in the world around us,
but root motivations for many things that we do, actually take us in to the realm of self-idolatry.
(making ourselves out to be God) Let’s first find where the word told us that such a state would
be. In the book of Psalms we find where there is a declaration of how we would make ourselves
out to be God’s; even exalting our power over the weak, and honoring only those who are greater
than us. As if they have a heaven or hell to place us in. Yet, the weak have power to declare a
greater day unto us, for they give opportunity to show the will of the Father through us.
Apostle John F. Morton / Self Endeavor / 81
Psalms 82
1. (A Psalm of Asaph) God standeth in the congregation of the mighty; he judgeth among
the gods.
2. How long will ye judge unjustly, and accept the persons of the wicked? Selah.
3. Defend the poor and fatherless: do justice to the afflicted and needy.
4. Deliver the poor and needy: rid them out of the hand of the wicked.
5. They know not, neither will they understand; they walk on in darkness: all the
foundations of the earth are out of course.
6. I have said, Ye are gods; and all of you are children of the most High.
7. But ye shall die like men, and fall like one of the princes.
8. Arise, O God, judge the earth: for thou shalt inherit all nations.
For me the most profound verse in this chapter is 6-7. No matter what you think or do to exalt
yourself above another, or to obtain power through another you are ALL children of the most
High who shall die like men, and fall like one of the princes. But in the mean time we exemplify
every effort to Lord over the poor and the weak, because they magnify our greatness through
their obvious substandard existence in our presence. We even support the power of the God’s of
flesh in the fellowships extorting the poor to give what they don’t have. (verse 2) We accept the
spirit of the love of money into the presence of the things of God and we diligently aid those
with power to demand it.
The idolization of self is the most powerful sin of them all because as it grows it becomes less
obvious to the recipient because life is all about acquisition; and as we obtain we feel
accomplished and self-gratified. Now everything we do is about self. We learn to trust in the
power of our own hand. God is now just a part of our great journey to obtain; but He has nothing
to do with decision making because even though He is God, He’s not the first God in your life,
because you, your intent, desires, hopes, dreams, lust, and ambitions are first. You have become
the God before Him. And everything you do, no matter who you do it for, it all comes back to
your self-gratification and gain. The idolization of self is now at full keel, unhindered by any
thoughts of righteousness. So how can we end up in a state such as this?
Sadly, for many it begins with the foundation of their relationship with God. Someone told
you that if you believed that Christ died for your sins and accepted Jesus into your heart that you
would be saved. But they never told you that belief is not simply a state of being, but it is
indicated through actions. The scriptures say with all that you get, get understanding; but many
have no understanding of how to serve God. And they believe that their service to him is
manifested on the Venereal Day of The Sun. A day that the Catholic Church chose to redefine as
the Sabbath day.
The Spirit of the living God does not leave us void of the revelation of our adverse decisions,
but He does not force his directive on us. However He will second the motion that you declare
within your own life. One thing that you need to understand is that a decision is made where
there is in fact a choice to be made. Many have no idea that they have made the decision to
follow a lie. Therefore, has the Spirit of the lord turned them over to their ability to trust and
believe the lie.
(II Thessalonians 2:11-12 And for this cause God shall send them strong delusion, that they
should believe a lie: That they all might be damned who believed not the truth, but had pleasure
in unrighteousness.) This is where the sin unto death is born.
I John 5:16 reads as follows: If any man see his brother sin a sin which is not unto death, he shall
ask, and he shall give him life for them that sin not unto death. There is a sin unto death: I do not
say that he shall pray for it.
Now it’s important for you to take note that the scripture did not say a sin OF death but a sin
UNTO death; in other words, a sin that you will commit unto the day of your departure. In 55
years of life, I have never heard a single messenger teach on this scripture. If the scriptures tell us
that there is potential for something that could be so serious that God tells us not to pray for it,
why is there no teaching on the understanding of such a thing. No part of the word of God is
hidden from us. We do however decide not to be interested in the parts that declare something
other than what we desire from Him. The scriptures tell us that with much knowledge comes
much responsibility. Up until now, I’ve given much information that you have had the
option to receive, or not. But the coming publications are going to establish a pivotal moment in your
walk with the Lord. Pivotal in the sense that they will uncover your root evidence of self idolatry; or pivotal in empowering you to remain in a state of denial.
One thing is for sure, the word of God endures of itself. With that in mind, there is no
scripture within the word of God that isn’t supported by many others. So let’s go through the
subject of the sin unto death with the most referenced method possible. First of all, understand
that all things in the physical world are in fact motivated by the spirit realm. There are spirits of
light and spirits of darkness, and we are too often not attentive of which ones we are subject. The
beginning of the sin unto death has to do with an ability to resist the revelations of the Holy
Spirits guidance. This in essence is manifest by a spirit of rebellion. Before going any further let
me reiterate what I said in chapter 3. In order for you to know, love, and desire God’s will and
still walk in contrary ways, you must first be exposed to, and be accepting of the spirit of
confusion. For how can a man reject that which is right unless he is first confused?
The spirit of confusion can establish a foothold through our implementing our own
perspectives into the things of God. We’ve seen it done time and time again by the kings over
Israel, but let’s focus on just one for now. During the reign of King Saul there was only one
mandate, and that was whatever God said through His messenger Samuel. There’s nothing
confusing about that. But just as satan placed a question of what God said into the mind of not
just Eve, but Adam as well, so did he do with King Saul. Even to the point of making God sorry
that He made him King.
I Samuel 15:10-26
Then came the word of the LORD unto Samuel, saying,
It repenteth me that I have set up Saul to be king: for he is turned back from following
me, and hath not performed my commandments. And it grieved Samuel; and he cried
unto the LORD all night.
And when Samuel rose early to meet Saul in the morning, it was told Samuel, saying,
Saul came to Carmel, and, behold, he set him up a place, and is gone about, and passed
on, and gone down to Gilgal.
And Samuel came to Saul: and Saul said unto him, Blessed be thou of the LORD: I have
performed the commandment of the LORD.
And Samuel said, What meaneth then this bleating of the sheep in mine ears, and the
lowing of the oxen which I hear?
And Saul said, They have brought them from the Amalekites: for the people spared the
best of the sheep and of the oxen, to sacrifice unto the LORD thy God; and the rest we
have utterly destroyed.
Then Samuel said unto Saul, Stay, and I will tell thee what the LORD hath said to me this
night. And he said unto him, Say on.
And Samuel said, When thou wast little in thine own sight, wast thou not made the head
of the tribes of Israel, and the LORD anointed thee king over Israel?
And the LORD sent thee on a journey, and said, Go and utterly destroy the sinners the
Amalekites, and fight against them until they be consumed.
Wherefore then didst thou not obey the voice of the LORD, but didst fly upon the spoil,
and didst evil in the sight of the LORD?
And Saul said unto Samuel, Yea, I have obeyed the voice of the LORD, and have gone
the way which the LORD sent me, and have brought Agag the king of Amalek, and have
utterly destroyed the Amalekites.
But the people took of the spoil, sheep and oxen, the chief of the things which should
have been utterly destroyed, to sacrifice unto the LORD thy God in Gilgal.
And Samuel said, Hath the LORD as great delight in burnt offerings and sacrifices, as in
obeying the voice of the LORD? Behold, to obey is better than sacrifice, and to hearken
than the fat of rams.
For rebellion is as the sin of witchcraft, and stubbornness is as iniquity and idolatry.
Because thou hast rejected the word of the LORD, he hath also rejected thee from being
king.
And Saul said unto Samuel, I have sinned: for I have transgressed the commandment of
the LORD, and thy words: because I feared the people, and obeyed their voice.
Now therefore, I pray thee, pardon my sin, and turn again with me, that I may worship
the LORD.
And Samuel said unto Saul, I will not return with thee: for thou hast rejected the word of
the LORD, and the LORD hath rejected thee from being king over Israel.
Confusion begins when we even consider implementing our own perspectives into the things of
God. Rebellion begins when we make the conscious decision to trust our own endeavor rather
than being subject of the directives of His Holy Spirit. Rebellion is as witchcraft…how? Moving
forward with intent to manipulate the Spirit realm by anything other than the directive of His
Holy Spirit is witchcraft. In order for you to forego the directives of the Holy Spirit in your own
life, you must first allow your flesh man to take precedence over the leading in your Spirit, thus
shutting God out….witchcraft.
Hebrews 13:5 says: Let your conversation be without covetousness; and be content with such
things as ye have: for he hath said, I will never leave thee, nor forsake thee. So that we may
boldly say, The Lord is my helper, and I will not fear what man shall do unto me.
Saul was king over the people and still he justified his rebellion through his fear of the people.
Saul’s sin against God was found in his idolization of his image before the people. He even
feared the people more than God. In a moment where he had opportunity to please God, he
implemented his own perspectives in to God’s will. The thing about being in a place such as this
is that you have no idea how far it has to go before God knows that you will not turn back. God
knew at this point that Saul would never truly turn back from his sin, so the anointing of God’s
hand was removed from Saul; and he was removed from being King. This is a prime example of
the sin unto death. So how do we know when someone is in a sin unto death and why should we
not pray for it. Let me clarify that the scripture does not say to not pray for the individual, but it
is saying not to come before God about this iniquitous nature they have embraced…why? There
rebellion has become so great that not only God sees how they have come to embrace it, but they
have no shame in defending it before the people. Therefore your prayers over this matter are
asking God to change what this person has declared to be acceptable in there site. They are now
walking in their right to Galatians 5:13. While at the same time being susceptible to II
Thessalonians 2:11-12 And for this cause God shall send them strong delusion, that they should
believe a lie: That they all might be damned who believed not the truth, but had pleasure in
unrighteousness. This is where the sin unto death is born. I would like to reiterate the end of
chapter 4
I Corinthians 5:11-12
11. But now I have written unto you not to keep company, if any man that is called a
brother BE a fornicator, or covetous, or an idolater, or a railer, or a drunkard, or an
extortioner; with such a one no not to eat.
12. For what have I to do to judge them also that are without? do not ye judge them that
are within? 13. But them that are without God judgeth. Therefore put away from among
yourselves that wicked person.
The key word here is BE. No matter how hard you try, you cannot get a meow out of a
dog. It’s a dog…it barks…no manner of convincing changes that. These are the ones
whom whenever correction comes, they can justify all things, regardless of the depth of
the iniquity. They believe that they can escape correction through the old proverbial Flip
Wilson excuse, “The devil made me do it.” These have a form of Godliness, but deny the
power thereof. There spiritual rebellion IS a witchcraft in the presence of the people (I
Samuel 15:23). Know them. As well as you should know them that DOES labor among
you. (I Thessalonians 5:12) Those of the outer gathering do serve a purpose. But will they
command the revelation of your approval in God’s presence…or your compromise.
I Corinthians 11:19. For there must be also heresies among you, that they which are
approved may be made manifest among you.
I know that the majority of you that have read this far will in fact continue to walk in the ecumenical errors of your mind, all because your environment supports and condones it. But remember that Jesus said the day will come when many who proclaim a life committed to Him will be met with the words, ”Depart from me ye that work iniquity, for I never knew you”. One thing we must first understand
in order to rise in our relationship with the Father is to accept that JESUS DID NOT DIE
FOR YOU….He died FOR THE LOVE OF THE FATHER. That the Fathers plan for
your life might be worked out. But self-endeavor has caused many of us to walk with the
intent of obtaining all that we can get because we believe that the sacrifice of Christ has
caused God to owe us something. Rather than walking as Christ and doing all for the love
of the father, we do all for our own gain expecting the Father to show His love for us. If
you consider what I have given here Don’t receive a word of it without seeking God’s
guidance. But if he confirms all that I have revealed, will you turn back on all that you
have come to trust? Or will you justify all that you are outside of Him, for the purpose of
continuing to walk in your own power. Unacknowledged iniquities can very well become
a sin unto death.
To them that have an ear let them hear what sayeth the Lord of YOUR HOUSE
